Deleting your data

Last updated 7 September 2026 · IDK Korean and IDK Italian

You don't need to ask me. Deletion is a button in the app, it runs immediately, and it is permanent. The instructions below are here because the app stores can't link to a button.

Delete everything, from inside the app

  1. Open IDK Korean or IDK Italian.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Tap Delete account and confirm.

For security, the operating system may ask you to sign in again first if it has been a while — if you see "requires recent login", sign in once more and repeat the three steps.

What gets deleted

All of it, at once, with no recovery window:

There is no soft delete and no thirty-day grace period. The delete screen shows you a summary of what is about to go and asks you to type a confirmation, but once you do, it is gone. If you want a copy of anything first, email eric@novalingvo.app before you delete and I'll send you an export.

What stays, and for how long

WhatWhy it survives deletionHow long
Bug reports you filed from inside the app They live in a separate issue tracker and are needed to fix the bug. Ask me and I'll scrub or remove yours. Up to 2 years after the issue closes
Server request logs (IP address, timestamp, request) Written before deletion, and needed for security and abuse investigation 30 days, then automatic
Aggregated analytics counts No longer tied to you or to any identifier once the account is gone 14 months, then automatic

Deleting only part of it

You don't have to delete the whole account to get rid of one thing. Individual texts, decks and cards can each be deleted inside the app, without touching anything else. To be taken out of usage analytics on its own, email me — see the privacy policy.

If you can't use the app

Lost the device, or can't sign in? Email eric@novalingvo.app from the address on the account (or tell me the phone number or sign-in provider you used) and ask for deletion. I'll confirm it's your account, do it, and write back to confirm — within 30 days, and usually the same week.

Deletion is your right to erasure under Art. 17 GDPR. The privacy policy covers your other rights, including access, correction and portability.
